Gwagebar (Tex) is a 8yo 15.2hh brown TB gelding. This beautiful boy was broken in as a 4yo and only had 6 starts as a country race horse. He was the stable favourite, even though he only had a few preparations for racing he was just one of those horses that was nice to be around and very low maintenance (a good doer too). He has been used to pony the breakers off and is not bothered by what the youngsters are doing alongside him, he just gets on with his job. He has a lovely way of going, works with contact, happy on the buckle and picks up correct canter lead, both directions. We think that this horse has a great front and with regular work would make a nice hack. He has been barefoot for about 2 years and has great feet. So no need to shoe, unless you want to. Great to swim in the lake or lead out of the car, ridden by a teenage boy while at the stables, just for trail riding and a day out with the race horses to keep them calm. Tex has no vice on the ground or under saddle, never bucked in his life, not even when he was broken in. He has been used as a pleasure horse by a middle aged lady since being retired, and has never put a foot wrong. He is a lovely horse to own and is a pleasure to ride in every way, no matter how long it is between rides. Never needs to be lunged, but nervous owner did occasionally because it made her feel better. Tex is a very sensible and quiet horse, just as happy to be on his own as he is with other horses. Fantastic on trails, no matter what is happening along the way. Vehicles are no problem, no matter how rattly and noisy. Happy to be plodding around on the buckle, he is a lovely honest horse, with a one in a million laid back attitude. This horse would suit a lady or beginner rider for pleasure or a teenager as a Pony club mount. He has a great trainable attitude, nothing is ever too much trouble. Recently been used on property for stock work, started over little jumps and used as a spare horse for visitors on trail rides. Due to his owner’s change of circumstances, Tex must be sold. This is a very sad and regrettable sale of a much loved horse, many references available. You may not have been searching for a T/B, but this is the nicest horse you will encounter. His looks and his temperament are more like a QH than anything else. 100% sound, never had a day off due to soreness or injury. Chiro, dentist, farrier and drenching all up to date. Asking $4000 Must sell, so any reasonable offers considered.
