If you are looking for quiet, talented, confidence builder then Victoria Park Archon (Arky) is for you. 16.1, 10 years old and EA registered, Arky has a snaffle mouth in all disciplines and an obliging nature with all that he is asked to do.
He is a talented eventer and has also been to many dressage events, CTs, jump clubs and countless clinics. He calmly took my daughter around Intro courses - with scope to go higher - before she left for uni and then he was the perfect gentleman for me to take out and compete in dressage and CT – and I only ride quiet horses.
Arky would make a great Pony Club or Interschool horse and most importantly he has a calmness you don’t find in many TBs. He is very easy to catch and shoe, self-loads and loves a trail-ride; roads, around machinery, in company or alone – he’s just the same. He’s the horse we put our non-riding friends on when they come to visit.
He would be perfect for a young rider wanting to get into or move up in eventing as he is level headed and steady. He has been around many of the SEQ courses but never even bats an eyelid when taken to new surroundings. He does not shy, spook or fizz and is very trustworthy. He recently took me (a senior, inexperienced x country rider) in my first ever Hunter Trial – I trust him that much. He has a lovely showjumping style, which is often commented upon when he is out.
As he was bred to event, for a more adventurous rider he would step up through the heights in cross country as this is his forte. My daughter never had any time or jump faults on course and they were consistently in the placings. He is by Delago Brom (a known sire of successful ** and *** Star Eventers) and his brother is also a *** eventer.
His only vice is mild windsucking which is easily controlled by his collar, does not affect his weight and has never been an issue. All vaccinations, including Hendra are up to date. Vet-check and viewing welcome. It has been a heartbreaking decision to put him up for sale as he will be greatly missed.
