Jango is a 16.2hh bay gelding 7/10/14 Clydie x Stock Horse (reg Clyde x sport horse). Jango has extensive trail riding experience (including in the high country!), dressage and obstacle courses (3 phase equitation) He has had 6 weeks schooling with a professional eventer/showjump rider and dressage schooling prior to training with us. Although Jango hasn't competed he has been out and about. He was broken as a 3yo for trail riding and has since very well behaved at lessons and trail riding. He is generally relaxed although can look around a little on arrival before settling. He enjoys arena and trail riding alone or with friends, and is easy going to have around generally. He is bold and likes to lead a group trail riding, and has been to the beach and seemed to enjoy it. Jango is an absolutely adorable chunky monkey type! He is very eye-catching with his stocky build, and looks lovely working in an outline, He is a versatile type and although he has only done cavalettis so far, we can see him making a great allrounder/pcav/hrcav prospect! On the flat, Jango shows loads of potential but he is still green in the canter. He has good paces and is straight forward to ride. He maintains a good rhythm, is relatively steady in the hand, and understands the basics of bending although could b more supple at times. He is forward moving without feeling hot, but does need strength, time and further training to start to balance and collect in the canter more. Jango is a generally good boy on the ground but can be a little fidgety at times when tacking up. Otherwise he's definitely a people horse, loves attention and catches you! He has been good to clip, needle, float, shoe etc and is easily convinced to worm/paste! Jango is happy paddocked alone or with friends although he can be as little bossy around food. He is okay to stable but does prefer the day yards/paddocks where possible. He responds best to regular work, and would suit a rider with time to put into him consistently to take his training to the next level. Jango is a special horse with lots of talent and potential for the right rider willing to put the time into him! He is best suited to an intermediate + rider. He can have a very rare pigroot although he hasn't done it here with us at all or showed any signs, it is something to be aware of if you aren't balanced in the saddle yet. Saying this, he is generally a very sensible boy and with a rider of the right experience level I don't think this will be an issue moving forward. He is a high quality horse, and we are very excited to see what he goes on to do in his new home!
