This boy attracts attention wherever he goes! Great paces, including enormous overtrack! Competing at elementary level (unofficial & participatory) with scores in the 60’s (as well as classical dressage) – never unplaced in stiff competition (generally in the top 3). Started with medium training. Registered with EA but has no points. Registered also with the Australian Friesian Warmblood Horse Society. Easy to take out on trail rides and the beach with others or alone. Can pony another horse off him. Also participated in working equitation, skills at arms and horse archery. I bought him from Ebony Park (aka Ebony Park Rocky) and got him broken in just shy of turning 4 years old using natural horsemanship. Does not need to be ridden every day or lunged beforehand - just jump on and ride. Never been lame or unsound. Great to catch, float, tie, worm, trim..... Fully vaccinated (including Hendra). Great doer with fantastic feet – never been shod with minimal trims needed. Does get a little itch around face and under belly but managed with rugs and fly spray – but I also live in subtropical Queensland (Logan area) and he is not stabled and he did not have it in Victoria. This horse is personality plus. Very sad and reluctant sale but I need to pay bills and have young ones coming up - I cannot keep them all. Has never reared or bucked but does do the odd shy if a bird flew out from under him etc. Quiet, but not for a beginner rider. Ideally suited for ambitious adult riding club, schoolmaster or interschool or an ambitious rider to start to collect points through EA. Recent placings: Elementary champion PRARG summer series 2017 Elementary champion CGDRC summer series 2017, winter series 2018 Qld AHAA Championships 2017 - 1st in 3.2 & 3.3 (& Elementary Champion); 1st partbred gelding ridden and champion partbred Friesian ridden AHAA National Championships May 2018 - 1st in 3.2 & 3.3 (& Elementary Champion) and 1st Classical Dressage Test Elementary 6a.; 1st partbred Friesian gelding led; 1st partbred gelding ridden and champion partbred Friesian ridden. Elkido has achieved this mostly only ridden 3-4 times a week with lots of breaks because of work commitments and wet weather, and with limited lessons and facilities. Hence, what would his potential be with frequent rides and lessons?.....
