Gentle, quiet, no vices, 9 year old pinto mare. Trust this horse for my 10 year old to handle on her own. Up to date with dental, farrier, vaccinations, easy to float. Purchased a few weeks ago to jump from a competitive jumper with full vet check. Gave her 2 weeks to adjust and gain weight. Started light riding, walking, trotting, canter and trot over polls by 10 year child. Noticed an abnormality in gait. Vet evaluation identified minor heal crack. A week later took her in for detailed clinical examination. Radiographs clear, ultrasound of left foreleg identified thickened deep digital flexor. This injury usually occurs with repeated high impact jumping. Advised horse can be rehabilitated to trail ride or light work beginner’s horse. Will only consider new owners who meet the horse as she deserves an appropriate home.
