Andy is a gorgeous riding pony gelding looking for a loving new partner. Andy is very sentimental to me but I have decided to sell him as my lifestyle is quite transient and I am no longer able to look after him the way he deserves, as well as being too big for him. He has done just about everything over the past 11 years including mustering, showing, pony club activities, dressage, and showjumping which he is very talented at. He has been ridden bareback on ride outs and swimming and is great alone or in company. Used to motorbikes, dogs farm machinery and general farm life chaos. He has a soft mouth, and is good with voice cues, his flatwork is solid and lateral movements established. Andy is extremely smart and has so much personality. He can be taught tricks and recently learnt how to smile on cue.
I’m looking to find him a home where he can be loved and enjoyed by a confident child or small teen. He is quiet and sensible but he is not a plod about or a first pony. Though he has come back well for beginner riders before he would be wasted for this, he is too forward moving and responsive to be well suited for children who nervous and lack balance. He would make a brilliant second pony for a confident little rider who wants to have a go at everything and who enjoys jumping. In years past with me he jumped up to 1.15m and completed courses up to 90cm. He has had lessons with Robert Goodwin who commented on how brave and talented he was.
Andy has been my best little mate for a long time and after a few attempts to keep him and only lend him, I feel that the best thing would be to find him a well suited permanent home. He was bred and gifted to me as a school leaving present by a dear friend of mine and I have done everything with him myself since he was a yearling, but the last few years have really shown that I can no longer give him what he needs. This is a VERY difficult sale and only the best of homes will be considered. Andy needs to be managed with his feed and a full vet report can be provided. This can be discussed in detail to any serious buyers who are more than welcome to have a vet check done. He is currently coming into light work to build some muscle up after a couple of years in the paddock. Due to personal circumstances, I’m advertising him a little earlier than I had planned.
