QUIET AND FUN - BRED FOR DRESSAGE BUT LOVES WORKING EQUITATION AND TRAIL RIDING!

 

Bolero is a lovely quiet gelding who has seen much of the world in his young life. He is schooling his flat work kindly, with soft and smooth paces, including an uphill canter that grandma could ride. He works in a frame and has some lateral movements (leg yield, shoulder in). Bolero is a big Shetland pony in a Baroque body; would rather eat the tarp and umbrella than be scared of it, more whoa than go.

 

Bolero is by Picaro PM, who is an IMP Perlino PRE. This makes Bolero a half brother to the well known Palomino stallion Magestic Matador, who is going kindly under saddle and proving himself as a sire for the next generation.

Bolero is safe on trails and thoroughly enjoys the experience, showing no concern around livestock and traffic. He is happy at the back of the pack and doesn't get hot.

 

He has also attended numerous clinics and several competitions, including:

- AHAA Victorian State Championship 2023, 1st place (Part-Bred Led Gelding under 7yrs)

- Basic Preparatory Dressage Test 3rd Place

- Ranch and Obstacle Clinics

- Dressage Clinics

- Working Equitation

- Extensive trail riding in previous home

 

Bolero was also started on a mechanical cow a few years ago and was confident and cowy, worth continuing this. He will also bow for a treat!

 

Bolero is easy to catch, float, ties well. Barefoot, good feet. Blemish and scar free.

Whilst he is very quiet and non reactive, he is known to test riders who are weak or unconfident (handbrakey) so we are chasing an assertive rider willing to give him a boot in the guts or a "PC Yeet" if he gets sticky.

A very reluctant sale that has taken months to decide upon for his owner who loves him dearly.
