Frank AKA “Bloomfield Furstenburg”. DOB 16/09/12. is an absolutely STUNNING WB gelding by Furst Love out of Bloomfield Sienna (Sirocco X Capone). Type Frank is a amazingly eye-catching type, with his jet black colour and chunky yet athletic build. He is naturally uphill with a super striking arch to his neck, excellent conformation. He has serious wow factor and a very special presence about him. Experience Frank has attended many clinics, lessons, riding club rallies and HRCAV competitions. He always comes home with ribbons and is very well behaved out at shows. His owner has found she likes to take him for a walk and a light lunge in a new environment to help him settle in, however we didn’t lunge him when he arrived here for his first day and he was excellent. With consistent outings, I’m sure his new rider will develop a system that works best for them as a combination. He hasn’t had consistent outings with his current owner due to her having a young family, and struggling to find them time to keep him in consistent work. Temperament Despite Frank being a big, flashy warmblood we have found him to be a treasure to handle and an absolute delight to have around in general. He has been very sensible in the paddock for turn out, but also very fuss-free in the stable/day yards. He has a lovely, sensible nature. To ride, he is very relaxed and calm both on the arena, out on the roads and the trails. Although he can have the odd moment where he feels a little bit playful, this has not escalated and it seems to be just a bit of enthusiasm for his work. He is a super genuine horse and generally very quiet and sweet-natured. Paces With Frank’s world-class breeding, it is no surprise that he has quality paces. He has a remarkable canter with huge ground cover but is still very balanced with excellent jump. It is extremely comfortable to sit on, and with further strength training, I think he will show a real talent for collection. His trot is floaty and swingy, and although he is still building fitness and strength, you can feel the potential this trot really has for upper level dressage. Frank presents the opportunity to obtain an FEI dressage prospect with drop dead gorgeous looks, expressive paces, and a reliable, trainable temperament. Dressage Training Rhythm - Frank is more woah than go, although he is happy to go forward when you remind him. He is very happy to tick along in whatever rhythm you set, and won’t speed off when you soften the reins. He has such a kind attitude and is so keen to please. Suppleness & Contact - Frank is just coming back into full work now so although he is very wiling to bend both ways and understands inside leg to outside connection, he will feel more elastic with continued training. He is super willing to stretch down and seek the contact. He is happy to work in whatever frame you ask for from an uphill working frame, to lowering from the base of the neck and reaching for the bit. His choice of frame is a lower frame, so you do have to make half-halts to encourage him to bring his poll up to the highest point but this is improving every day as he gets fitter. He is generally soft in the hand and finds his own balance in self-carriage when in the lower neck set. Just needs a little more uphill tendency and hind leg engagement. Impulsion & Straightness - Frank has a good level of natural impulsion, however he is still learning to activate his hind legs when asked, but when he gets the hang of this, I can only imagine what kind of power will come out of this trot! We are currently making lots of half-halts and transitions to quicken the hindleg and bring him into a more uphill outline. We are using lateral work to improve his straightness and bend and he is start to feel very connected which is exciting! He always tries his best, and is very obedient even when you push his buttons a little bit when working on new things that challenge him. Laterals - Frank is currently working at around an novice level on the flat but showing potential for upper level dressage with a keen dressage rider who will train him consistently. He has trained some of the elementary work in the past, but is still working up to this in his current training. Vices Frank is a mild wind sucker however this is controlled by a collar or an electric fence. This doesn’t affect his weight in any way, He is a very good doer. Frank presents a rare opportunity to secure a very attractive horse who is a very correct type with an exceptional temperament and a good base of training to continue on with. He will come along very quickly in the right hands, and is absolutely sure to blow the dressage judges away. He is quite enough for a confident amateur to continue producing with the guidance of a good coach. This horse is a very serious competitor, he truly is the complete package and has so much to offer an ambitious rider looking to win lots of ribbons whilst having fun along the way!
