Tanguero TSE
SIRE: BML Totality (Totilas x Regardez Moi)
DAM: Hoc’s Paula (Jive Magic x Contango 11)
Tanguero TSE (Tango), is a striking chestnut colt born on September 28, 2023, with three stockings and a white stripe on his face. Tango boasts an exciting pedigree.
His sire, BML Totality, is Heath Ryan’s rising star in the dressage world. BML Totality is by the legendary Totilas who broke all world records as a dressage competitor himself and whose remarkable influence is evident in his very first foals which immediately went in to Olympic performances. Notably, at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, three out of the four Dutch riders were aboard Totilas progeny, exemplifying their prowess. Two standout sons include Glocks Total US and Glocks Toto Jr, ridden by Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhous, respectively.
BML Totality's dam, Resplendent R, descends from the renowned Regardez Moi, a three-time Australian Grand Prix Champion who proudly represented Australia at the World Cup finals in Las Vegas. BML Totality's rapid ascent through the competition ranks, excelling up to FEI Prix St George and Intermediate 1 within 6 months of being campaigned by Heath sets the stage for a Grand Prix debut next year.
Tango's dam, Hoc’s Paula, represents some really exciting top of the range performance lines. She is sired by the late Jive Magic, who is a powerhouse in Australian Grand Prix history with Rozzie Ryan in the saddle. Notable victories include the esteemed Grand Prix class at Sydney CDI in 2010. Jive Magic's sire Jazz continues to be a front line influencer in the development of dressage genetics the world over. Jazz has been consistently acknowledged in the WBFSH sire rankings. Other horses by Jazz include, Glock’s Johnson, has not only enjoyed a successful competition career being a part of the Dutch dressage team at the 2014 WEG and 2016 Rio Olympics but has also extended Jazz's influence as a prominent sire. En Vogue is another famous son of Jazz who partnered Carl Hester at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Jazz is also the dam sire of Lottie Fry’s young superstar and 2021 & 2022 World Young Horse Champion Kjento.
On the dam side of Hoc’s Paula's is Contango II, a bloodline made famous by Steffen Peter’s Ravel. Ravel's success includes a World Cup Final title, victory at CHIO Aachen, securing individual World Equestrian Games dressage medals and has come closer to an individual Olympic dressage medal than any American horse since 1932.
Notably, Hoc’s Paula shares a very close relation with Carl Hester's En Vogue. En Vogue, sired by Jazz and out of a Contango mare, delivered an outstanding performance, claiming 8th place individually at the Tokyo Olympics and most recently won the Hartbury CDI 3* Grand Prix in July of this year scoring 78%.
Honestly, if there was ever a foal bred to become part of the Australian Olympic future this has got to be it. Tango is beautiful.
