DS Spicy Salute (Roger)

DOB 24/02/2014, 16.2hh, Bay Warmblood Gelding.

Roger is a quality performance horse with proven eventing/showjumping bloodlines; sired by Regal Salute (Salute) out of Cruse Along (Cruising).

He is an attractive, athletic horse with a kind disposition. A quick learner, Roger is a delight to handle with good ground manners and a curious nature. He has smooth, balanced paces is generally more woah than go but happily holds a clear rhythm and balance in all gaits.

Roger has been developed steadily over the past few years gaining a solid dressage and jumping foundation. He is well established at novice level and has just started training elementary. Roger is a careful jumper training up to 1.10m at home and competing 1m, with plenty of scope to go higher with the right rider. He does need a  firm and supportive rider to bring the best out in him.

He has proven his versatility, previously turning his hoof to cross country training and roping clinics. He's very willing over the few XC trainings he's done and was especially brave with the water jumps and ditches. He can be ridden out on his own and with other horses.

With his many outings and competition experiences under his belt, Roger is still a big, sensitive, athletic horse and needs a supportive, confident rider to get the most out of him. We would like to see him go to a kind and knowledgeable home with an experienced, confident rider to continue his training.

Easy to float and a brilliant traveller he is currently and has been barefoot for most of his life. He does windsuck but this is easily controlled with a collar and/or suitable fencing.
