Lamington is a WB gelding 11yo (DOB 10/11/12), 16.3hh by Noblewood Park Beretta out of a mare by Grandkavalier. Lamington has been produced as a showjumper and was purchased by his current owner in 2021 and was previously jumping around 110cm confidently but had been cruising around some 120cms with the occasional rail. He has attended some big shows and has good exposure to different competition environments. Lamington hasn't done heaps of trail/road riding but he is very sensible /well natured and has never shown any signs of dirt but he can have a look at things and the occasional quick shy (he still feels very safe and on the lazier side to ride generally) but for this reason is better suited to a competent rider. He is generally ridden with spurs and a dressage whip but doesn't need to be. Although Lamington has cometed extensively as a showjumper, he is yet to commence his dressage career. This being said, he shows great promise in this phase as he is a super attractive type with quality paces and a willing/trainable attitude. He has an active clear 4 beat walk, a floaty trot with huge swing and ground cover and a super scopey canter. He is working at a prelim dressage level with basic laterals underway - leg yield/shoulder in etc. He maintains a good rhythm, contact and is showing talent for more advanced extension/collection with further training. He is reasonably supple both ways and understands the basics of halt-halts and inside leg to outside rein. Lamington's current owner has taken him to dressage clinics with no dramas and his previous owner found him to be well behaved in the warm up, ring and tied up to the float/truck. He has always travelled and loaded really happily, and is generally easy to have around at shows. He is better suited to dressage and showjumping as he can be a little looky/spooky at times although would likely be competitive on cross country with a confident xc rider. We have found Lamington to be a dream to handle, and his owner mentioned the only thing he tends to do is raise his head when being wormed. He is usually very good at the stables and hanging around but his owner did mention there was a particular stable block he could be a little impatient/fidgety in if left too long but he has been great here. Lamington is a really special boy with a lot to offer his next rider. He is for sale for genuine reasons as his current rider can no longer ride due to pain related issues. He could be ridden by a less experienced rider as long as they were capable enough/not too worried about the odd spook. Otherwise he seems to be a a really cool, genuine, safe boy. He has been successfully ridden by teenagers in the past, and would suit an ambitious rider looking to be competitive at Pony Club/ARC/mid level EA allrounder (although the XC would need some schooling and a confident ride). Lamington is a very high quality horse, with an affectionate personality and a very sweet nature. He is sure to be someone's best friend, and a competitive fun mount to do a bit of everything with and have loads of fun and smiles along the way!
