Antonio aka "Silverdene Capitano" is a very impressive 16hh approx Warmblood gelding by Calypso Classic out of Silverdene Partygirl.

DOB TBC but 7-8yo approx. Antonio was started as a 4yo spending 8 weeks with the breaker and has since competed two years in a row at the Warmblood Nationals for 3yo (led gelding) 2nd and 4yo (ridden gelding) 3rd place. When out and about, he has consistently been very relaxed, loading and travelling easy, hopping off the float, has a quick look around and then happy to eat and be fussed over being plaited and show prepped! Antonio has only been out to limited shows as a very young horse, and although he's been extremely sensible, he can be a little young horse impatient tied to the float but this should improve with further exposure/maturity. He hasn't pulled back but can just fidget. He has always loaded very well from a young age but has only been in an angle load so far as thats what his owner has. On the flat, Antonio is still a little green for his age but he is willing and learning incredibly fast here at CTE. We have found him to be extremely safe and sensible however he was a little stubborn with the forward when we first brought him back into work but now he's very forward and picking everything up beautifully. He is still building strength and suppleness in the canter especially and has only just commenced very basic laterals. He is learning to work in a frame, and yeild off the leg and is probably a couple of months off producing a competitive prelim dressage test. Although we are only seeing a fraction of the quality of the paces we know antonio will be capable of producing in the future, he is still a VERY impressive mover with a good over track, incredible floaty, swingy trot with great hind leg action and a flashy front. He is an attractive, athletic type with an elegant uphill front end and good conformation. He is a hairy bear with his winter coat at the moment but with his summer coat this boy will absolutely be head-turning stunning! We have found Antonio to be generally very good on the ground, although he can be playful and a little cheeky at times. He means well but he's still a baby in some ways and can be a little fidgety/impatient to tack up. He is improving with his regular work and routine but he does need a competent handler to be the boss on the ground still. He is easy to have around and is content stabled or paddocked with or without friends. Antonio is a trail riding MACHINE. He is absolutely in his element in the outside world. He loves seeing all the new things and although he is curious, he is exceptionally brave, safe and easy going out on the roads for a hack. He likes to lead but is also okay with waiting behind and he approaches new things with a wonderful attitude. He has just started jumping and although he is still figuring out where to put his legs he's been bold and willing enough and with time/training I think he could make a great allrounder type too! Antonio is an interesting type because although he is quiet enough to be ridden by someone less experienced, he has a big personality and is still green so we feel he would be best for an confident intermediate plus rider to bring out the best in him. He would make a great first young horse to train up for a keen rider looking to form a long-term partnership with a versatile, talented young WB under the watchful eye of a good coach/trainer. He presents a very special opportunity to secure a horse of his talent and breeding at a great price for someone willing to put in the work to bring out the best in him and help him reach his true potential!
