VL Louis: Liver Chestnut Gelding foaled 4-12-2017, 16,2hh by Redleaf Larrikin (Lux Z x Quidam de Revel) from Parkview Julia (Close Encounters x Clever). He carries 44% thoroughbred blood. Louis was bred by our daughters Eliza and Meg, they have done most of the handling and riding from a foal. Eliza rode Louis right up to this year when she made the decision to sell him, due to fulltime work commitments and other young horses coming thru. She handed the reins over to her father to continue to campaign him in preparation to be sold. Louis has a fantastic temperament. He is currently confidently competing in 1.10m classes @ Ag Shows with all the atmosphere. He has an athletic Jump, and is very trainable with excellent rideability. He is an enjoyable horse to have around and shows all the attribute to be a serious horse in the future. Mid Five Figures VL Louis’s Breeding VL Louis is by Redleaf Larrikin which was bred and campaigned by David Cameron before being exported overseas. Larrikin's sire is Olympic sire Lux Z Larrikin's dam Holland Rose was imported from France in 2005 and is by the prolific Quidam de Revel, and descends from one of the best dam lines in Europe. Holland Rose produced a licenced son in France, and two 1.45m horses Tresor D and Charming Rose. In Australian she has produced World Cup winner and sire Copabella Cadiz (Brooke Campbell), World Cup competitor Copabella Verdi (Talara Cameron), Mini Prix / Young Rider competitors Copabella Cashmir (Laura Sloey) and Copabella Voltage (Brooke Campbell), and two young Lux Z horses Copabella Luchia and Copabella Luxor. David Cameron then brought Holland Rose and has bred several young horses. Holland Rose is by Quidam de Revel, and descends from the famous mareline of Jolie Rose. Holland Rose's granddam, Gold Rose (index 186) was as a 3 year old French Conformation Champion and she was in the French Showjumping Team from 1979 until 1982, during which time she won the Grand Prix of Paris and Madrid and became second in Lisbon, Barcelona and Hamburg. In addition Gold Rose produced two sons, that both became approved stallions Turban Rose in Sweden and legendary stallion Calvados in Holland. Great Granddam of Holland Rose was the unique mare Jolie Rose, who became very famous by producing 6 international showjumpers including: All Rose, Dall Rose, Gold Rose, La Rose II. VL Louis's dam is Parkview Julia, by Close Encounter which competed at Grand Prix in Australia. Parkview Julia is from the same mare that produced the Horse Magazines stallion of 2004 and World Cup Competitor Parkview Junebug (by Dusky Hunter), which competed successfully with Jeremy Inglis. Julia has produced many young horses, the eldest by Premier Des Hayettes, was sold overseas, VL Cricket, VL Hirocco Bug, VL Quillow and VL Qool.
