Are you wanting fun, talented, educated and also drop dead gorgeous new horse?! Maybe with a side of slightly cheeky?! Barrakee Wee Mini Cooper presents an opportunity for an astute buyer to purchase a fabulous horse at a very competitive price!

Cooper has been known to his current owner and PHS for the last ten years. He has successfully competed to 110 showjumping, Preliminary dressage and EVA95 eventing. He has competed at Ag Shows, pony club, attended clinics, swum in the dam, been ridden bareback and doubled. Over this time, Cooper has been ridden by an amateur rider, a professional, teenagers and again an amateur rider doing straight dressage for the last 16 months.

Dressage - Cooper has three correct paces, fabulous rhythm and regularity. His lateral work is established with shoulder in, half pass, renvers and travers. Cooper’s flying changes are automatic. He is very flexible and tractable, ready to compete Elementary.

Jumping - Cooper has jumped 110 successfully with a professional rider and, after 16 months away from the jump ring, happily popped round a 90cm course with a teenager without batting an eyelid!

Cooper is used to the day to day nonsense of farm life, tractors, trucks, dogs and kids but he is not unflappable. Cooper has a soft mouth, is responsive without being reactive and is willing without being forward but does sometimes need encouragement to ‘get the job done’ if he is feeling lazy.

With past owners, if overfed/ with a nervous rider, Cooper could be known to take advantage - be stubborn, spook or chuck in a pigroot. His owner has found that he is best run on grass or low quality grass hay and taking a ‘non nonsense’ approach with him.

Cooper is good to catch, float, truck and is well behaved for the farrier. He will tie up all day and is straightforward to handle, trim with clippers (hasn’t ever needed to be fully clipped) and wash. Cooper is sound, in work and ready to compete.

Cooper would suit a confident intermediate to experienced rider. He is not a child’s horse, he won’t suit a nervous rider or a mum getting back into riding. He is safe but could, at times, test a novice/ unbalanced rider if overfed or not worked. We would love him to go to an experienced home that is keen on dressage, showjumping, interschools and combined training or eventing.
