Finch Farm Calou – Talented & Scopey Warmblood

Cal is a 16hh, 12-year-old Warmblood gelding by Calgary GNZ out of a Balou Du Rouet mare. Exceptionally bred with the talent to match, everyone who sees him is impressed by his incredible jump, he has successfully competed and won up to 1.40m country Grand Prix with his previous adult rider with scope to go higher. For the past 12 months, he has been campaigned by a small 15-year-old junior rider, proving his adjustability and willingness.

Despite being on the smaller side, Cal has a big canter and easily makes distances while remaining adjustable. He is careful, scopey and will happily jump from any spot.

On the ground, Cal is an absolute gentleman. He can be handled by kids, is friendly in the yards, and is a pleasure to catch, shoe, and travel. He stands tied to the truck or float all day with no fuss.

This is a difficult decision, but we believe Cal will thrive with a stronger rider who can help him reach his full potential. He has an incredible backend so needs a rider that can maintain their balance and rhythm. While we have had him we have competed up to 125cm at all the large venues across Australia, he has placed at Boneo (most recently at the 2025 Wetlands championships) and several other shows. He is currently in full work and ready to go, available to view/ride near Albury NSW. He has vetted clean, with X-rays available, and vet checks are welcome.

Price is slightly negotiable to the perfect home, we would love to see Cal jump around big tracks with his next rider.
