Stunning Grey Allrounder with good temperament potential for PCAV/HRCAV/eventing and pleasure riding
Grey 16hh approx 7yo WB gelding by Equine Affair Freckles (feiner stern) and out of Equine Affair Exquisite (Ex Libris) ho had a successful dressage career herself. Ash is a really cute type although he does still need to develop some muscletone over his back and neck. ‘Ash’ has 3 very flashy, big and expressive paces that show a lot of scope for the future, however he is still weak at times and needs a rider to build his strength and suppleness up to support these huge paces. (I can't wait to see his movement after he has had 12 months of consistent training with his new rider!)
Ash has done a bit of everything at home including dressage, jumping, trail riding, road riding etc and has a good foundation of training but does need a patient rider who is going to take the time to continue bringing him on correctly. He has been to a dressage show, adult riding club and floated/trucked to local trails where he was very well behaved and obedient.
On the flat he is very trainable and wants to do the right thing but he can be a bit lazy and does need someone capable of riding him forward.
Although he definitely has potential on the flat, he is a bit further along with his jumping. He is a very honest and willing jumper, easily popping 105cm+ at home with Ben over the last few weeks. He is probably not flashy enough to be a straight showjumper, but he really loves jumping, is super rhythmic and doesn't get strong. He is careful, and just pops along so will make a great eventing/pony club/allrounder prospect for the right rider. He has been xc schooling and is brave with a real "have a go" atttitude.
Although, he does have potential for upper level eventing, he is also pretty sensible and could also be a competitive mount for an intermediate rider wanting to do low level eventing/show jumping/ARC/PCAV. HOWEVER, we will only be selling him to a home that is either experienced with young horses, or works closely with a coach or trainer to help him reach his full potential. He is a really genuine horse and will be a lovely best friend and partner for someone who has the time/experience level he deserves.
He is generally extremely easy to handle, but is not a motorbike, so does need a competent handler on the ground. In our experience, he is an absolute pleasure and could be handled by a beginner child but we are looking for someone who understands horses may need reassurance when they go in to new environments and have the experience and/or support around them to transition him into his new home with confidence.
We actually broke Ash in ourselves and have done a lot of his training over the years, and unfortunately the stars just haven't aligned for him to find his forever human just yet but please don't let this put you off as he is a genuine horse. We will be extremely fussy with where he goes but if you think you may be the person for him, reach out to us and tell us a little bit more about yourself, your riding, prior experiences, your facilities and your coach/trainer who will be helping you along the way. We will be completely honest with you as to whether you are a potential fit and will arrange viewings based on suitability.
