Kylandee Japonica is a pretty, chestnut roan, reg. welsh, 9yo 12.1hh mare (DOB 14.9.14 ). This mare has a lovely natural carriage and a lovely way of going. She has the prettiest face with the tiniest little ears. Can be a bit lazy at times which is not such a bad thing and when she first comes into work can be a bit reactive. She has been shown as a young pony, so she has been exposed to the preparation and atmosphere of the show ring. When we bought her from the stud, I did mention that I didn’t want a show pony, it just had to have a good quiet nature. After being here we have taken her back to the start and she has not missed a beat. Her groundwork is very good, she just gets it and retains all her lessons. She has only had 2 sessions of work. After a spell she can get a little shy to catch, but is your best friend every time if you have a bucket in your hand. She has lovely ground manners never bitten or kicked. Good to saddle, bridle, lunge, tie up anywhere and you can leave her for hours and she will be patiently waiting. You can crack the stock whip all around her, roll the big ball over her and drag the tarp off her, with no dramas. We have been so busy with all our other horses Japonica has been put to the side. She has been on many trail rides and we did take her to one Pony club rally for the day. On trails, she has been on her own or with other horses and she doesn’t mind either way. Birds squawking and flapping around in the trees as we are riding don’t concern her. We realize she still has much to learn, and she is still very green. She would be suitable for breeding, a project or a companion. Walks up in the float every time and is a very good traveler. With a knowledgeable home to bring her back into work, she would be fine to go on with. She has never been around children, so it might take her a while to get used to kids. It is 12 months since she has been ridden. Must sell due to no rider and lack of time and too many horses. This little mare just wants to please but her new owner will need to take the time to get to know her as she can be timid around strangers. Great strong hooves, very low maintenance, and never foundered. Chrio, dentist, farrier, drenching up to date, currently rugged, 100% sound and blemish free. Asking $1800 ONO.
