Since AG Engineering Australia came into existence over twenty years ago with our extensive range of ‘spring-loaded’ Flexi Panels that absorb an impact to protect both horse and rider, the factory has received many requests for ‘other’ types of horse related items. The greatest demand from the equine community has been for a truly Portable Shelter / Stable with a simple roof that offers shade from the sun and shelter from the rain, while remaining light-weight and easy to erect and transport.

These Shelters are ‘easy to assemble, light-weight and free-standing, offering considerable strength and portability, while remaining both practical and affordable.

The panels are 1.8 metres square and weigh only 12.5 kilograms, making them light and easy to handle. The roof supports are also light and flexible, and the tarpaulin roof is held in place by TEN bungee straps which are not difficult to connect. In fact, the entire assembly can be carried out by a single person in just a few minutes (although a second set of hands may come in handy and make the task even easier).

The shelter/stable is now 3.6m X 3.6m. With this design, the previously stringent requirements of being perfectly level and square are now circumvented -- so these shelters can be erected almost anywhere with ease. High winds were always the main problem, but the TEN bungee cords provide significant 'give', which makes a huge difference to the strength and durability. The standard tarp has also been upgraded to a 'super tarp' with an EXTREME rating -- an expensive option, but well worth the money as it boasts 'Four Times the strength of other super heavy duty tarps on the market, which makes the roof rigid yet flexible -- so it can stand much higher winds than previous designs.

The new design also includes shorter panels that are much stronger and lighter while retaining their FLEXi nature, and the roof frames and the two piece steel centre pole are much stronger and easier to insert and remove.

N.B. The gate can be placed in any position — but should be perpendicular with the direction of the oncoming weather. (Most storms and showers in Australian come from the west, so the gate should be on the Northern or Southern side.)
