Rising 20, QH x Arab, liver chestnut gelding with 3 stockings and snip, stripe and star. 14.3 hh, EA registered. Dressage schoolmaster and trail riding legend.

Highly trained forward thinking ridiculously cute galloway. Does walk to canter, flying changes, laterals. Very light into the bridle, sensitive to seat aids and a cute little mischievous guy to be around. Currently in light work.

Would suit a novice/nervous rider coming back in to riding as a confidence builder rather than a complete beginners horse, unless all you wanted to do was trail riding.

I got him as a confidence booster for me 3 years ago after my horse before Tyson completely destroyed my confidence. I had a bad riding accident 15 years ago that left my pelvis shattered and if I have another break to my pelvis I won’t be able to be put back together. He has never thrown me off and I’ve ridden him out on trails a lot by himself or with others. I have floated him by myself to off his agistment multiple times for lessons or to ride with friends and he’s been the perfect gentleman.

He has arthritic changes in both hocks and all fetlocks. I’ve had his hocks injected twice and have him on a joint supplement, but gentle work will help keep him sounder for longer. He doesn’t windsuck or have any stable vices. Great to catch (greets you with a whicker!), wash, farrier, vet. Loves carrots and carrot stretches! Just had his teeth done and vaccinations for strangles, tetanus and hendra. Vet says he has great teeth and he only needs to be seen to once a year.

He can have “hot” days where he spooks or gets overwhelmed but most of the time he is quiet as a lamb. Fine to float, he self loads and unloads slowly but scrambles so needs a double space in a straight load. Neither myself or his previous owner have trucked him or tried him in an angle load but in the straight load he puts himself on an angle.

Because he is prone to laminitis he needs to be kept off grass, watched like a hawk and fed a low-sugar diet. He has been tested negative for cushings.

Because of his height and arthritis the lighter the rider the better he is. I weigh around 70 kgs and would ideally see him rehomed with someone who weighed much less than me as he is much happier when ridden by my coach who is much lighter.

He’s currently agisted in Bywong (near Canberra). Please call for more information. Priority will be given to the quality of home first and foremost, he is a very special little horse and this is a heartbreaking decision for me. He is only for sale due to my ill health.
