Curly
Unreg stock horse, approx 15.3h, 12 yrs, Bay gelding.
This is a very hard decision, but life does that sometimes.
I've owned curly since he was a young horse, but since my becoming unwell, he has ended up being out of work for about 4 or 5 years now. When he was ridden he was mainly a trail riding horse, with basic schooling. He is a lovely, well balanced mover. I had always intended to keep him and school him more, but with all my health challenges, I am taking a step back from riding, and compared to how I used to be, I hate to say I have lost my nerve.
Curly is in great health, barefoot, sound and an easy keeper.
Curly is a good looking chunky boy. Photos don't do him justice.
Curly is absolutely not a beginner or novice horse, he is hot and quirky, with a big try, and can get frazzled ( head up goes crooked / jogs). He is forward moving, sensitive and light off the leg. When he was in full work I loved riding him for the same reasons. He's very trainable, and tries hard to please. Curly requires an experienced rider.
Curly is very very sweet. Happy to be loved on.
On the ground he is very easy to handle, very obedient, sensitive to his handler and very willing .
He very much lacks floating experience and hasn't left my property since arriving, as we are across the road from hours of trails.
I would love to see Curly go to a trail riding or non riding home, he would thrive doing EAL or continuing to be a paddock ornament for someone to love on , even clicker training or liberty, would very much suit him. He gets along great with other horses, he has lived w mares, geldings even minis.
Home is my biggest priority and I've kept the price low so that hopefully I have options so I can choose most suitable home for him.
