Joker is a fabulous 11 year old, 15hh registered stock horse gelding by the great sire Bonlac Gigolo. He represents the best of his breed - he is responsive and intelligent; agile and hardworking; he is suitable for various disciplines.
Education, skills and experience: Joker has competed at agricultural shows, been to pony club, attended horsemanship clinics, been trail ridden and commenced challenges.
Joker spent some time with a professional trainer in February, 2024. He loved the routine and regular workload. Joker is very smart and willing to learn. He enjoyed being challenged and showed some promise with the cows.
General demeanor under saddle: Joker is described as forward and sharp; willing and responsive. He is soft and 'light' in the bridle and willingly 'collects'.
Current workload/ fitness: Joker is currently in work, being rider 3 times a week.
Handling: Joker is safe and easy to handle - to catch, trim (currently happy barefoot), wash, saddle and load. He self loads or loads into float/ truck very easily, stands quietly when traveling, and unloads calmly.
Behaviour: Joker is extremely affectionate and is an absolute pleasure to have around. He is the first to meet you at the gate, especially when the float comes out.
Joker has a great work ethic and is happiest when consistently being ridden.
Joker does not have any dirt but, when out of work, can be reactive, tense and spooky with nervous riders.
Feeding and management: Joker is currently fed hay, chaff and Digestive Eq.
Medical history: Joker does not have any medical issues.
Rider Suitability:Joker would be suitable for a capable and confident junior or smaller adult rider who has the time to ride him consistently. He is tolerant of novice rider mistakes as long as the rider is confident and not tense.
Reason for sale: Joker is very reluctantly for sale because his owner has gone back to university and doesn’t have the time to ride him. Her 13 year old daughter rides him and finds him safe but she is not confident enough to support him when competing.
Joker’s owner says: He's a pleaser and I think he would excel with someone who wants to do some ASH shows, some challenges and showjumping. He needs to find ‘his person’ who wants a willing horse and is able to ride 5 days a week.
