Dusky- Super moving youngster.
Dusky is a bay filly and was 2yo in November, she should mature about 16hh and was broken in last year and was just the sweetest thing ever. Due to her breeders inability to provide papers her specific breeding is unknown. We suspect that she is Stockhorse/T/B cross. However, she has the cadence like a W/B which is just lovely to watch. She has a great trainable brain, so has been a fantastic student. When we picked her up on the property last year, she had never had a hand on her. She was the only one in the paddock that came up to us for a bit of a sticky beak and she had a general quietness about her and that is why we chose her to bring home. She walked straight up on the float, after a half hour leading session, travelled 2 hours home not a problem in the world and within a week in our yards was ready to ride. She has the softest mouth, good breaks and has great turns on the long reins. This mare would make a fantastic allrounder with her athletic, correct conformation and her nice way of going. She has a great hock action and this is very appealing for jumping and or dressage, if someone out there is looking for a future allrounder this filly has all the right attributes. Dusky has had a great start to ridden life, she has not one vice at all. Happy to be ridden on her own or with other horses. Never had a problem with saddling, bridling, any of her ground work or being ridden. Due to the heat we have put her out for a spell. But that will do her the world of good as she has had a very steep learning curve over the past few months. We do realise that this filly still has a lot to learn, but these youngsters with a good start are worth their weight in gold. She is a clean slate with no baggage. This is a very disappointing sale, but we are almost out of dam water and will have to start carting water to the horse paddock. Carting water is a very intensive job, and one we just don’t have time for, so numbers must be reduced. You can’t breed and have a youngster broken in for less than the asking price of $4000, the bonus is this way you know exactly what you are getting. We think that she is a bargain at that, but all reasonable offers considered. Video shows a few basics, then her first ride out of the round yard.
