Dusky-This a very, very sweet bay filly who is rising 3yo, DOB 10/9/16 she should mature about 15.2hh(currently 14.3) and was broken in last year as a 2yo. Station horse x stockhorse (no papers or details on sire available) just a snippet of Percheron in her breeding. She has lovely even rhythm in the trot, cadence like a W/B and good hock action, which is just lovely to watch. She has a great trainable brain, believe it or not she has never had a melt down about anything, so was a fantastic student to break in. When we picked her up on the station as an 18 month old, she had never had a hand on her. She was the only one in the paddock that came up to us for a bit of a sticky beak and she had a general quietness about her and that is why we chose her to bring home. She walked straight up on the float, after a half hour leading session, travelled 2 hours home not a problem in the world and within a week in our yards was ready to ride. She has the softest mouth, good breaks and has great turns on the long reins.  Dusky has all the right attributes for many disciplines, quiet, respectful, keen to learn and a happy go lucky nature. She has had a great start to ridden life,  not one vice at all. Follows us around like a puppy in the yards, happy to be ridden on her own or with other horses. Never had a problem with saddling, bridling, catching, rugging, floating or any of her ground work, she has just had a very compliant nature from day one. She loves attention and the more brushing and fussing the better, she would take it all day. We do realise that this filly still has a lot to learn, but these youngsters with a good start and good attitude are worth their weight in gold. We are out of dam water and so far we have had a very poor start to winter. You can’t breed, feed and break in a youngster for less than the asking price, the bonus is this way you know exactly what you are getting.  Video shows a few basics, then her first ride out of the round yard last year. She has come back into work for her 2nd session recently and is just the loveliest horse to have around. Has had several trips in the float now, and walks up without hesitation every time. Has been rugged the last few weeks but is currently in her winter wooolies. Very relaxed  out on trail rides, dosnt care if she is on her own or with other horses, doesn't care if the other horses leave her behind(she is very happy in her own skin). More whoa than go, would suit a rider looking to get back into riding, or a rider on the cautious side, Dusky would trot all day if you wanted-just plod. We would love to find her a knowledgeable family that will enable her to reach her full potential.  100% sound, no vice on the ground or under saddle, drench, farrier, chiro all up to date. Currently away being used as a compaion for an old T/B. Will be in for another session in early Spring and will be taken to PC and the odd show for the outing. This is a very disappointing sale of a very honest, quiet and versatile filly. We know that she will make someone very happy for a very long time. Just a shame to offfer her for sale now, as she just keeps surprising us with every ride.  Can not talk about this filly enough, she is one of my very favourite of all time. Asking $4000 ONO
