Currently: This young, 5-yr-old ASH x TB mare was purchased for an advanced RDA-type program. She was the staff’s guide horse to filter back into the school by the time she was 10-yrs-old. Through a poor position by a staff rider, she has kicked a student’s horse and we do not keep any horses that have kicked, young or old. History: Purchased from a 13-yr-old girl who loved her through equitation and lower-level jumping, this horse has been expertly started under saddle under the scrutinizing eyes of a professional coach for and with her. It was reported that the sale was due to time commitments - that the girl had three other ponies she was showing and had to pick one to sell. Had a minor injury (cut from wooden plank left in pasture yard) on rear-left hind at sellers property prior to sale. Has never negatively affected her in movement or health. Other information: This horse has been used for beginner walk/trot lessons, learning to steer, beginner trail rides (she can spook in place - shudders), and low jumping of natural obstacles in field. She is very safe with submissive horses she has been properly sensitized to, excellent with whips/spurs, ridden in western, stock, dressage, all purpose capacities (does not know how to neck rein), primarily English but learning ranch versatility. Is food-aggressive at meal times if in a herd or stalled next to another horse (pins ears back, has kicked the wall). Is day penned alone, stalled opposite the other horses, to limit rehearsing bad behaviours. Is ridden everyday, in excellent sale condition, 5.6 in blankets, COB head. Trailers easily, as has been to shows a lot, will not stand to be be sprayed with fly spray but will allow tail to be sprayed, not head shy at all but pushy with head. Will tolerate clipping of feet and muzzle (which has been thankfully disallowed anyway) but will not stand for ears. Has been twitched for spraying or clipping ears. Current tetanus/strangles vaccs (Dec 2020), current on shoes (front shoes, trims behind), worming rotation, diet - 3 scoops mixed chaff, Hygain Regain, Hygain Zero ½ pellets, 30mL 1x/day BetaMare Chasteberry, 10mL 2x/day OvuMate. *apologies for this platform’s issues with uploaded images; *horse is currently in professional training at Tysons Performance Horses until Jan 2020. To be returned to school 17 Jan 2021.
