15.3hh, 11 years old. Born 2013.
Dam: Australian Stock Horse
Sire: Friesian - Geale Van Fjildsicht
Kite's a beautiful FriesianX with a great personality, who listens carefully and learns quickly.
Update: We've now had Kite re-introduced to the bit (no issues) and ridden by our local amazing Dressage instructor weekly. She's coming into contact at a walk and trot nicely and progressing into work at the canter. She has been described as a great 're-train' option for someone who wants a horse to bring through dressage levels, with great potential due to her looks and movement and great temperament.
Previously in paddock condition, she'd been ridden fortnightly or weekly, for regular trail rides at walk/trot/canter or light arena work. When kicking her heels up in the paddock she shows off with the floatiest of trots and demonstrates her stock horse traits when chasing kangaroos for a bit of fun!
She's beautifully sensitive - listening carefully to your voice, stance on the ground, and seat when ridden. Best suited to a novice/intermediate rider looking to continue their education with their horse, or someone with more experience who's keen to build her up, as she's so trainable but does look to her rider for reassurance when uncertain or nervous, and responds well to natural horsemanship / Warwick Schiller styles of training that allow her to take a breath, regulate and move forward.
Previously ridden bitless for the last five years as that's our riding preference and she was quiet enough that I felt safe in a bitless, but has also been ridden with a bit occasionally. We keep her barefoot and trimmed every four weeks. She can be a touch girthy on occassion, and has the slightest of clubbed angle on her front-off hoof - but it doesn't bother her. She's microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations, teeth and regular worming.
Great to c/s/ but hasn't been floated for a few years. She loves sharing breath with you over the fence or 'bopping' your hand with her nose gently to check in as you walk along.
Potential breeding prospect given strong Friesian lines. Not registered with AFWHS but we have the form and her breeding paperwork if that's wanted.
Also available: Fitted Arena dressage saddle, bitless/bitted bridle, rug.
She's loved dearly, but needs a new partner due to ill health of family.
