Introducing: Monarch 4 Gold (Saydee), an 8-year-old OTTB grey mare (Bowemma/Crackerjack King), who has Black Hawke/ Brilliant Invader on the Dam side. Saydee is a talented horse who has a beautiful scopey and careful jump and floaty flat work, with a smoochy and easygoing personality. Equimillions eligible.

Education, skills and experience: Saydee has been OTT for almost 3 years and has proven to be a versatile horse. With her previous owner, she was training elementary dressage, competing novice, with all laterals, walk to canter established. Whilst compact for her height, she has a lovely, bold canter which is a highlight.

Showjumping is where Saydee excels; she is responsive with a super scopey and careful jump. She is a sharp and nifty horse who is quick on her feet and great with those tight jump-off lines. With her current owner, they have been training 80-90cm+, with her previous owner, she competed 1.10cm and EvA 95cm.

Current workload/fitness: Saydee is in work 3 days (weather dependent) a week due to winter and limited daylight. During warmer, lighter months she is in work 4 days p/week. She thrives on a routine and is best when in consistent work.

Handling and general behaviour: Saydee is a very sweet, people loving mare. She is easily handled by everyone from children to adults and will happily stand there whilst you groom and fuss over her. She is easy to travel, walks on to the float (can do straight and angle). She is easy to catch, groom, tack up, worm and shoe. She copes well in new environments and doesn't get spooked by loud-speakers, wind, noise and other horses.

Feeding and management: Saydee is like a labrador horse! She loves her food and will come galloping across the paddock at feed time! We have worked with a KER equine nutritionist to add weight to her since she arrived. She has an easy-to-manage diet with access to 24/7 hay. She is sensitive to changes in her diet and her behaviour can change if fed feeds with too much sugar. She is fed BetaMare to avoid any mareyness.

She is shoed with wedges on her front hoofs.

Medical history: Saydee had a clear vet check at purchase in early 2025. She has regular bodywork to keep her in condition.

Rider suitability: Capable, confident and calm. Saydee is looking for a rider who is kind, soft in the hands and confident. She is a quick learner and has the trainability, ability and temperament to go up the grades in any discipline. She is best suited to a rider who has experience with young OTTBs. Whilst she has had great training and exposure, a rider who can provide her with confidence and assurance will bring out the best in her. She is not suited to beginner or nervous riders.

Saydee would suit a competitive junior or adult rider looking for that next step up and a horse to train up the heights.

Reason for sale: Saydee has been with us for the past few months and is for sadly for sale due to needing a more advanced rider. She has attended Pony Club, Clear Round Days, Dressage and Showjumping lessons. Due to the end of the show season in Victoria, she hasn't competed with her current rider. She is a very special horse and we want her to go to the very best of homes to continue her education and competition.
