Jessica Woods (Hamilton) riding Too Predictable, won the Charisma Trophy for the New Zealand Young Rider One-day Event Championship at Pukemarama, near Foxton, over the weekend, leading after the dressage phase and incurring no further penalties in either the cross-country or showjumping....

 

39th National Appaloosa Championships - Colour and Character!

The 39th National Appaloosa Championships were held 25 - 30 March (including the National Futurities) and featured a huge variety of events that encompassed everything from Halter to Dressage, Showmanship to Hunt Seat Equitation and Western Pleasure to Working Hunter! Over 125 horses competed at the show and for five days AELEC was taken over by Appaloosa horses of every size, shape and colour imaginable. Now the dust has settled on the 39th National Appaloosa Championships, Tamworth will have to wait until next year before so much colour and character once again invades AELEC....

 

Horse Attacked - Albury-Wodonga Equestrian Centre

abc.net.au has reported about a disgusting horse attack at the Albury-Wodonga Equestrian Centre that has the local equine community fearing a serial mutilator has returned to the area. This time the attack was made on six year old gelding called Valentino, who was found on Monday with a strangulation injury to the penis. The RSPCA have reported that Valentino is the latest victim in a series of mutilations that have been happening in the Thurgoona area since 2001....

Gucci is pleased to announce that it is extending its relationship with the equestrian world through a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Edwina Alexander, the world's current number one female professional show jumper. This new initiative follows Gucci's decision to return to the world of horse-riding in December 2009, after a 20-year hiatus, when the fashion house assumed the title sponsorship for the Gucci Masters in Paris and also signed a sponsorship agreement with Charlotte Casiraghi for her participation in the Global Championship Tour in both 2010 and 2011....

Horse Virus in NSW Puzzles Local Vets

Vets are worried about unusual symptoms appearing in horses in the New England North West and across the State. Around 100 horses in New South Wales are reportedly showing strange neurological signs and 15 have died. Symptoms began showing in horses in NSW about a week ago but has spread across the border to Victoria and South Australia....
