Trakehner Warmblood mare - TL Viveka - Rising Star Eventer

Published on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Feature Horses

Viveka is a purebred Trakehner mare, purchased by ‘Rutley Park’ from Torridon Lodge in Western Australia.  Viveka’s (Veka) sire is the wonderful Trakehner Stallion Valuta, imported to Australia by Gert and Mary Donvig. Valuta had a stellar career in dressage - his many high achievements culminating in being short listed for the Soeul Olympics.

Veka is flying the flag for Trakehners on the eventing scene, and it is no coincidence that she is doing well.  Many Valuta progeny display the competitiveness that he himself showed, having great temperaments to add to their athleticism and performance success.

Veka is ridden by four star eventer Will Enzinger, the pair have been competing together for two years and have had many wins at the lower levels. Veka recently had her first one star start at Tooradin Horse Trials.

During Tooradin Horse Trials Veka performed well in the dressage arena, and showed she has the ability over the bigger one star jumps.  The field was strong and Rutley Park are pleased to report that Veka held her own, ending with a sixth place for her first one star start.

Veka’s latest success was at ‘Lakes and Craters 3DE’ where she took out first place.  After leading in the Dressage, Veka jumped a clear cross country round and then went clear in the showjumping to win. Rutley Park credit Will with Veka’s ongoing success - the pair make a formidable team!

During the Inaugural Trakehner Verband tour in 2010, Veka was classified into Stud Book One in Germany, and was the highest ranking Senior Purebred Horse in Australia, receiving a champion for her led and ridden classes.  Veka scored a nine for type from the German classifier, who was impressed with how suited she is for eventing.

Veka’s  achievements were recently reported on the German Trakehner Verband website in their News section.  This is a first for any Australian Trakehner to be recognised for its achievements by the German Verband.  Her continued success will now be recorded by the German Trakehner Verband - adding towards her performance record with them.

Following is a translation of the news item that appeared on the German Trakehner Verband website:

CCI * Success in Australia

The well attended Tooradin Two Day Event saw TL Viveka (by valuta - Cheraw xx) place well in one star, she is from the breeding place of Torridon Lodge and owned by Denise Rutzou, who is also president of the Australian Trakehner Association, under their constant rider Will Enzinger they competed in their first one star to take 6th place. The bay mare is by Valuta from direct sire line of Tempelhuter. Valuta stood in Denmark in 1978 and was exported to Australia, where he competed successfully in dressage up to Grand Prix.

Trakehners Australia Inc are very proud at ‘Rutley Park’ of Veka and Will’s success, and look forward to her future success in 2012.
