2011 Pitcher Partners Pacific Coast Hack Championships a Success!

On 12 - 13 February 2011, Horseworld in Nelson NSW, was the place to be for serious hack riders and fans, when the Show Horse Council hosted the 2011 Pitcher Partners Pacific Coast Hack Championships.

Despite the weekend proving to be very wet, the arena looked beautiful, and the venue allowed competitors the opportunity to expose their horses to an indoor arena experience prior to the big upcoming Gallery Equine Grand National Show.

Competitors who may not have qualified to compete at the Grand National, they were still able to do their own two minute workout to show off their horses' manners and paces, and get a taste of what it's like competing at the Grand National.

Here at Horsezone we were excited to learn that Patricia Steadman–Towell - who generously donated a service to Riding Pony, Rathowen Toy Solider for the Flood Auction - also bred the pony, Iona Park Melody (by Rathowen Toy Soldier), who won the The Horsezone Small Show Hunter Pony Hack n/e 12.2hh class!

When Horsezone caught up with SHC Show Secretary, Leonie Roberts, regarding the show, she said, "Our numbers have increased on last year’s competition, with over 200 horses and 80 riders in attendance. I have received many emails and phone calls from competitors thanking the Council for such a great weekend. On behalf of the Show Horse Council I would like to thank the sponsors for their generous support - without their contribution we could not offer such wonderful competition to our members". 

Following the success of this year's show, the SHC plans to run the Pacific Coast Hack Championships once again in February 2012 at the wonderful Horseworld venue.
