2012 Auction of the Stars a Success

The 2012 Auction with the Stars was held on 6-7 October at Plumbolah Equestrian Centre on the Gold Coast. All ran very well with some surprising twists added to this year's event!

The audience was kept entertained with a Freestyle educational display, where they had the opportunity to judge the riders. Audience, with score sheets, in hand judged the class with the following criteria - did the the music suit the horse? did the rider ride the freestyle to suit the music? and was the music tempo suited to the horse's rhythm?  Before each class started the rider explained how they choreographed the freestyle, how they chose the music to suit their horse etc. Once the test was completed the rider then also spoke to the audience on how they felt the test went.

Those taking part in the Freestyle were:

• Tor Van Den Berge riding Sir Anton
• Kaz Roe riding Donna Bonita
• Brea Trillitzki riding Figi R
• Tor Van Den Berge riding Laurie's As

The audience was also treated to a master class with Tor Van Den Berge riding Fisherman's Friend, Heath Ryan riding Regardez Moi and Anne -Maree Lourey riding Byalee Briar.

With a great line of up 21 horses up for auction along with four stallion services, which included Regardez Moi, Byalee Briar, Fiji R and Byalee Wow Wie rw, the highest sale for the Auction was lot 2 Jarrah R at $35,000 to one very happy phone bidder. Coming in at second highest was lot 14 AEA Texas (a crowd favourite) at $27,500 again to a very happy phone bidder.
