2013 Australian Dressage Championship Young Horse Qualifiers

RIDERS SHOPPE 6-YEAR-OLD YOUNG HORSE QUALIFIER

This class was won by the Andrea Beatty owned and bred SS Dante, ridden by Rodney  Martin. (Welfenadel/Donner Caroma), score of 8.160. A prolific winner of young horse classes at the CDI NSW Championship and Dressage with the Stars, this combination have been together since Dante came from the  Breakers, and are a formidable pair.

Second with a score of 8.080, CP Dresden is owned and trained by Jane Bruce - ( Damsey/ Callum Park Regardless) Alycia Targa has the ride on this talented young horse.

Third was Ruth Schneeberger with Ponderosa  Stud Royal Dancer,  owned and bred by Cheryl Hatswell.  (Royal Hit/ PS Lolita). They scored  7.480. All these horses were well within the qualifier score of 6.50.

Alexis Hellyer and Metal H, Lizzie Wilson-Fellows with Lets Jazzabit, Damon Barlow and Hillbreeze Stand Out, and Linda Krogh with Jigsaw R all had scores above 6.680 and thus qualified for Dressage With The Stars. Well done.

TRAILRACE 4-YEAR-OLD YOUNG HORSE QUALIFIER

We look forward to this class as it shows the babies, on whom we pin our future hopes.

The winner Bluefields Berlin (Bellissimo M/ Lady in Red) owned by JJ Fuchs, ridden by Janina Kletke impressed judges Virginia  Creed and Deidre Stock with a ground covering walk, super canter , light uphill and expressive, potential for the future. Score was 7.420.

Second was Mi Sirtainly Sir, ridden by Kristian Akehurst, owner Julie Farrell ( Sir Donnerhall/ Fashionista).  He showed and expressive trot, and today some tension were evident but he is also one for the future.  Score was 7.320.

Third was Nina Boyd riding Anwen Lovett’s Brierley Rajah, score 6.920. He showed a lovely elastic trot, and when he develops and becomes stronger is also one to watch for the future.

The only other horses to achieve a score of 6.5 and above to qualify for Dressage With the Stars were:  Quintino RW (David Shoobridge), Byalee Bliss ( Holly Barnes), Hillbreeze Sensation ( amon Barlow) , and Byalee Wow Wie RW (Ann-Maree Lourey).

TOP HORSE 5 YEAR OLD YOUNG HORSE QUALIFIER

Our judges for this event were Jill Cobcroft and Jane Bruce. They were very pleased to see some good young horses, in particular the top three.

Tor Van Den Berge on Remi Frangelica claimed 1st place with a score of 8.08 . This horse showed potential for higher level dressage, with scores of 8 or more for all three paces, was light and elegant and a worthy winner.

Second was Maree Tomkinson and her own Saddleup Romper Stomper. An excellent type for dressage, light and elegant, he showed good swing through the back but tension marred his overall performance. Score today was 7.7.

Third  was Nina Boyd and her own Revelwood Smash it, he scored 7.152. This  horse like the other two, impressed the judges  showing potential to collect and move up to higher level dressage.

Sally Rizzuto and Freetime, Hayley Gilbert and Sugarload Rubinell, Susan Barton Johnson with Danciello and Ninal Boyd with Woodside Maestro all scored above 6.5 for a qualifier for the Australian Young Horse Championship at DWTS in Victoria.
