Edwina Given All Clear After Fall in Global Champions Tour

Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander has maintained her 14 point lead on the Global Champions Tour ladder, despite a devastating fall at the latest round in Wiesbaden, Germany last night. A fall from her steed Cevo Socratessaw Edwina taken to hospital with a slight concussion and suspected broken wrist. Equestrian Australia’s National Performance Director for Jumping, Stephen Lamb, said he spoke with Edwina’s parents and she is OK....

 

Rachael Sanna Out of Olympic Contention

Sydney 2000 Olympian Rachael Sanna is now out of contention for the London 2012 Olympic Games after her number one horse Jaybee Alabaster was forced to withdraw based on veterinary advice. Sanna is currently in Europe with Alabaster to contest the Dressage Nomination events for the London Games, and despite contesting the first nomination event in Mannheim have since been advised not to continue....

Star Spanish rider Sergio Alvarez Moya hit top gear at the GCT in Wiesbaden winning the first CSI5* of the day ahead of tonight’s Grand Prix highlight. Sergio whipped round the course on Abab van het Molenhof in 57.56 soaring over the fences straight from the start. He covered the vast grass arena at high speed taking all the necessary risks to gallop between the fences for a fast time....

The Queen's granddaughter and former world equestrian champion Zara Phillips, riding her retired eventer Toytown, has carried the Olympic torch across Cheltenham racecourse, as thousands of screaming fans watched her light the Olympic cauldron.
