Heath Ryan and Regardez Moi delivered an impressive performance at the 2012 Sydney CDI to take out the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 71.275%. Sergio powered into first place on Kisby in a time of 59.56 winning the CSI5* 1.45m class ahead of a 42-strong field which included over 30 of the world’s top riders. Six Australian athletes participated in the first phase of their Olympic selection at the Lummen CSIO4* Nations’ Cup in Belgium overnight. Australian team selectors are onsite assessing athletes over the first round of the Nations’ Cup class and the first round of the Grand Prix on Sunday. Ukranian rider Cassio Rivetti clinched victory in the opening CSI 5*competition today despite a fast challenge from current GCT champion Edwina Tops-Alexander. Heath Ryan and Regardez Moi (pictured) have eclipsed a competitive field to win the Grand Prix Special at this year’s Sydney CDI. Australian Para-Equestrian athlete Sharon Jarvis has withdrawn from the fourth and final Paralympic Games nomination event which will be held in Sydney from 13-15 May, because her horse, Applewood Odorado (Odie), is unable to make the trip from the duo’s base in WA. The move means Jarvis, a Beijing Paralympic Games representative and 2010 World Equestrian Games dual bronze medalist, will not be eligible for a position on the 2012 London Paralympic Games team....

Edwina Tops-Alexander has been the first selected to the Australian equestrian team to compete in London with her horse Cevo Itot du Chateau, after a string of superb results that saw both rider and horse secure their second Olympic berths. The Holland based rider is the leading female on the FEI world rankings, currently placed 10th, after taking out the 5 star Global Champions Tour event in Doha, Qatar to start the 2012 season....
