Aiming High? Don't Miss Out On The Prince and You

Showjumping is a hugely popular sport in Australia and often all it takes is that perfect horse to get a young rider started and then the sky is the limit.

We believe the talented gelding ‘The Prince and You’ could be just that horse!

Owner of this jumping star, successful young showjumper, Sidney Roberts, has some great achievements under her belt, including being a member of the Australian Team who won gold at the Youth Olympic Festival in 2005 and bronze at Kolkata, India in 2006.

When asked about how she got started in showjumping, Sidney replied, “I was born in South Africa and my family moved to Australia in 1994. My father is an equine vet and my mother was a grand prix showjumper so I was basically born into the sport.” 

Beautiful and talented Sidney now has exciting new adventures in the pipeline – a move to Dubai where she will be riding, networking and modelling.

As a result of this pending overseas trip, Sidney feels it’s time to sell The Prince and You (aka Eddie) and give another young showjumper the chance to excel in the sport. She can’t stand the thought of this brilliant schoolmaster being wasted and bored in the paddock while she’s away.

“Eddie is the type of horse that loves one on one attention,” says Sidney, “he’d been sitting in a paddock for a year and a half not doing much when I purchased him. I had just sold my junior/young rider horse so I was looking for the next challenge. I couldn't even get him over a cross rail the first time I sat on him because he was off the planet. It was as if no one was home so I had to buy him, I love a challenge.”

“I've had him since 2008 and in that time, with a bit of TLC, he has developed the cheekiest personality which I absolutely adore. He loves liquorice and carrots! He would be the perfect mount for a young rider that wants to step up. He is such an honest horse who has saved me on a number of occasions. I would love for him to give someone else what he has given me.”

(aka Eddie) 17hh, brown, Thoroughbred schoolmaster gelding. Eddie is 15 years young and is by Select Prince out of Your Star.

Rarely does a horse of Eddie’s calibre come up for sale – he offers scope, honesty, soundness and World Cup ability. He has had countless Grand Prix starts and competed at four World Cup Qualifying rounds.

What we really love:
Eddie is extremely honest and reliable with straight forward, free flowing paces and is an uncomplicated easy ride. He’s great to shoe, clip, float and generally have around.
