All For the Girls - Woodhill Sands Showjumping, NZ

Katie McVean and Elle Phillips led the way in the horse and pony grand prix classes at the 3* three day Woodhill Sands Showjumping Show.

McVean (Mystery Creek) and Dunstan Daffodil were the only combination of 11 starters to go double clear in the horse grand prix. Three went through to the jump-off, with second-placed Evie Buller (Australia) and Yalambia’s Landor finishing on four faults and third-placed Samantha McIntosh (Cambridge) and Estina eight faults. McIntosh was also fourth aboard Witheze.

It was a little tighter in the pony grand prix where three of 16 combinations came back for the jump-off over the Sue Ryan (Adelaide) designed course.

Elle Phillips (Waikato) and Fruitalishas were double clear in 46.83 to take the honours ahead of Hanna Bodle (Morrinsville) and Mister Brumby who left everything up but had a time fault with their 48.04 time. Third placed Lily Tootill (Papakura) and Tallyho Bandit were third after taking two rails.

Rosie Commons (Auckland) carried on her good form winning the KiwiSpan Junior Rider and Giltrap Audi Young Rider.  Commons is now in reach of Tim Myers (Taranaki) in the Giltrap Audi Young Rider Series which should be a great class to watch at the Final this weekend (2-4 March) in Hawera.

Buller, who will ride for Australia in the coming two test series, also won the 1* grand prix
