All The Queen's Horses

Published on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in General

We admired the beautiful horses that took part in the Royal Wedding (even the runaway was a favourite) and have always been impressed by Her Majesty the Queen's love of everything equine.  Now, at 85 years of age, it doesn't seem like the Queen is quite ready to hang up her saddle yet!

The Royal Windsor Horse Show will run from today until Sunday 15 May and Her Majesty, who is obviously still excited about the show, has provided a charming photo of her two youngest grandchildren and herself out riding, to mark the start of this historic show.  CLICK HERE to view the photo at bbc.co.uk

The Royal Windsor Horse Show is the largest outdoor equestrian Show in the UK, with over 3000 horses and ponies taking part in more than 250 jumping, showing, and  carriage driving classes. The event has been running for over 65 years and takes place in Her Majesty The Queen’s private grounds at Windsor Castle.  There is plenty to see and do at Royal Windsor Horse Show with entertainment, arena displays and fun activities taking place in the Castle Arena and throughout the entire showground.
