American Quarter Horse Association World Championships Show

The American Quarter Horse Association World Championships Show commences on 6 November and runs through until 20 November, at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City, USA. There are 94 world championships up for grabs as American Quarter Horses from across the country and the world make their way to Oklahoma to compete against the best of the best.The World Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. Classes include everything from Amateur Pleasure Driving to Working Cowhorse, showcasing the wonderful temperament, amazing ability and versatility of the Quarter Horse. More than 3,300 entries from the United States, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom and Venezuela are competing at this year’s event.
The 2010 World Show is set to be a memorable time with tough competition as well as fun and exciting special events, which include:
- Veteran’s Day celebrations on 11 November
- Margarita Madness on 12 November
- Rein in Cancer – everyone will wear pink to honour horsemen and women who have fought a battle with cancer – on 13 November
- Exhibitor Appreciation Reception – including parade of this year’s Superhorse contenders – on 16 November
- More Margarita Madness on 18 November
- Battle of the Borders – 4-H Rebel Riders and the Freedom Riders of Oklahoma faceoff – on 19 November.
- Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association Demonstration on 20 November
