Auction of the Stars this Weekend
This weekend popular equestrians Heath and Rozzie Ryan open their home in Heatherbrae for the Auction of the Stars, traditionally the company’s biggest and best auction of the year with 2010 set to be no exception.
The auction itself will be conducted on Sunday from 1pm while Saturday provides prospective buyers the opportunity to trial some of the sensational horses available.
With 39 horses catalogued, the Ryans have put together a selection which covers the whole spectrum, from competition horses working through all of the Grand Prix work; stallions that take your breath away; freshly broken youngsters bred in the purple and right on the cusp of a career that could journey onto the Olympics; weanling youngsters who spring around the arena with gay abandon; and wise old broodmares who house fascinating genetics within their bodies and are in foal.
Horsezone Highlights
Lot 23: Bindaboo, a son of respected thoroughbred eventing sire Brilliant Invader and already a winner at one-star level. This level headed gelding has serious international eventing potential and his dressage training sees him come with established changes and pirouettes.
The official trialling starts around 10.30am on Saturday and continues on until about 6pm. On completion of the public trialling we then go forward with a masterclass that will feature all of the stallions in the auction. Talking on the microphone will be Auction of the Stars directors Ann-Maree Cambridge and Heath Ryan supported by the Dutchman, Dirk Dijkstra.
Set to be entertainment plus, this year the masterclass will also feature performances from some of the outstanding pupils and outstanding horses that are involved with the operation. During this masterclass will also be a Christmas BBQ and drinks, free to everybody with champagne from Irongate Estate and a lucky door prize from Wholly Relics Antiques.
The free stallion service fee from entries collected at the Auction of the Stars stall at Equitana will also be drawn on the night.
The auction offers a couple of variations of vendor finance so if you are interested in one of the lots but are concerned about your immediate financial capacity, don’t hesitate to express your interest by phone or by email, even if it is on the day of the auction itself.
This is an auction with more high-class horses than ever before the sale is tipped as the biggest gathering of top-class competition horses ever in Australian history.
