Australian Bred Horse to Illustrate its Breed Internationally

Published on Monday, March 14, 2011 in General

A young stallion bred in 2007 by the Australian  Fulmer Rise Stud, of The Pocket, New South Wales, has been used to illustrate the perfect specimen of it's Breed in Wikipedia.

The horse is a Lipizzaner, 257 Favory Pallavicina, by the stud's imported French bred stallion 226 Favory Naussica ('Maestro"), from their imported Hungarian bred mare 227 Pluto XXIX-23.

The colt has been described by a senior  Rider at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna as "“This is one of the best Lipizzan stallions I have ever seen. He combines modern and baroque.  Your stallion is exceptional! Would you allow to use a photo of this stallion for the article Lipizzan in Wikipedia? It would show that look baroque; rideable and modern! Your stallion would give a perfect image of the breed!”

The Fulmer Rise Stud also achieved international acclaim in August 2009 when a filly they bred there became the Champion Lipizzaner of The Netherlands at age five months, a particularly rare achievement. At Keuring the filly was scored with nine out of ten points. It is planned to bring the filly Theodorosta-54 to Australia.
