The prestigious Australian Halter Showcase was held at Werribee Park on 9 - 13 March, where the cream of western bred horses came out to show their stuff. Breeds represented included Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas.

President, Jenny Turner, has reported that around 180 horses entered the show, meaning that numbers were down on their usual 320 entries. The reason for the decrease in numbers was that the halter class entries were a lot less than previous years.

On a brighter note, despite the lower halter numbers, there was a massive increase in youth entries, which were free thanks to generous sponsorship by Lakota Trailers www.lakotafloats.com and plenty of ridden horses.

Congratulations to David Pearce and the DiCandilo family who won back to back 3 year old western pleasure classes at the Summer Sizzler Show and Australian Halter Showcase, with the talented Winderadeen Somejustlikit. Youth competitor, Kodi Anderson riding her mare Breakin Hearts won the prestigious Superhorse event against a very competitive field. While, Lyndall Dauth and RQH Whos Ur Daddy gave stand out performances in the Senior Amateur Performance Horse Division.
