Australian Team Leading Blenheim After Dressage!

Published on Friday, September 9, 2011 in General

Things are looking promising for the Australian eventing team, who are leading after dressage at The Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, with a total score of 157.9.  New Zealand are close on their heels with a score of 165.4 and Japan is sitting third on 176.0.

The Australian team members are Brook Staples, Catherine Burrell, Lucinda Fredericks and Bill Levett.

The teams will run Cross Country on Saturday morning with the Show Jumping phase on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in the individual standings, two British riders lead the field after the first day of dressage.

Piggy French holds the overnight lead on Lemington Lett Dance on 42.7 penalties, ahead of her nearest rival, Sarah Cohen with Irish Jester, on 44.

"This is the best this horse has done at 3 star level. We are very pleased with him particularly as he has had time off with injury and only run lightly this season.  So fingers, crossed he comes back to his good form and goes well in the rest of the competition," commented Piggy.
