Australiana Pioneer Village Celebrates the Birthday of All Horses!

Published on Monday, August 6, 2012 in General

All Southern Hemisphere horses officially turned another year older on 1 August and the Australiana Pioneer Village at Wilberforce celebrated with a Horses' Birthday Party on 5 August!

Organiser Kerry Gannell said that the day went really well, "The crowd loved it! Whilst there were not a huge amount of horses on the ground, those that attended were very impressive. We had a Piper and his bagpipes lead the procession of horses through the park and had not one problem with any of them. They were a well behaved lot!

Those who attended included Colleen and Brooke Carrington rinding their beautiful Shires; Suzanne Bellette with Zan and Tombay, who were a huge success, doing their demonstration down the back of the property; Benny the trick donkey and a lovely little rescue brumby who also does tricks - thanks to Bob Pankhurst who travelled from up the coast; Geoff Farrence with his Good Samaratin Donkey Rescue kids; Horse Rescue who do great work with horses; and plenty more.

A huge thank you to Ron and Jorga our sulky driver who we couldn't do without and Mark, with Ned in the buggy, who took some of the pressure of Jorga.

Thank you to all who helped and attended. We couldnt do this without you and hope you enjoyed the day!"
