Barastoc Sponsors Horse of the Year Show For Its 47th Year

Ridley AgriProducts, renowned for their Barastoc Horse Feeds, will be naming rights sponsors again for the Barastoc Horse of the Year Show incorporating the State Show Horse and Rider Championships from Friday 12^th. to Sunday 14^th. February. 

This is an astounding 47 year partnership with Equestrian Victoria which has been instrumental in creating the much loved show known throughout Australia simply as “Barastoc”. 

Entries have increased from 2015 when the State Titles were reintroduced at Barastoc and the successful exhibitors in these classes win their right to compete at the Australasian Show Horse and Rider Championships, also conducted by Equestrian Victoria  held later on in December.

For the first time this year a whole day devoted to Children's Classes will be held on Friday 12^th. February. These classes are also State Titles to qualify for The Australasian Championships.

In addition the popular Newcomer classes will take place for both Show Hacks and Show Hunters on Saturday and the Working Hunters will be judged on Sunday 14^th. December, as will a whole program for Sporting Horses.  HRCAV will also run four rings of events on Sunday

On Saturday 13^th. February, there will be nine rings devoted to special breeds – Riding Ponies, Welsh, Pintos, Palominos, Arabians, Shetlands and Buckskins.

Carriage Driving events will also take place on Saturday as will five rings of Open and Pony Dressage as will five rings of Open and Pony Dressage.
