Big name interstate and international riders and judges have arrived in Adelaide ahead of this week’s 2010 Australian International 3 Day Event (AI3DE), held in Rymill Park from 12-14 November.



Some of the riders who have checked in at Victoria Park’s temporary stables include Olympic gold medallists Wendy Schaeffer and Stuart Tinney, 2008 AI3DE CIC**** winner Christopher Burton, and four riders from New Zealand.

International FEI judges Michel Asseray from France, Sandy Phillips and Andrew Fletcher from UK and Jutta Koivula from Finland, and FEI Technical Delegates Andy Griffiths from UK and Chalermcharn Yotviriyapanit (Tor) from Thailand have also touched down in Adelaide to critique the three days of eventing.

Olympic champion and Event Director Gillian Rolton says the atmosphere in the parklands is building with the arrival of the riders and judges.

“The AI3DE is a great opportunity for people to get up close with Olympians and see world-class riders in action in the picturesque setting of Rymill Park,” Ms Rolton says.

“Victoria Park has been transformed into a temporary stable housing close to 100 horses which will compete across three disciplines – dressage, cross country and show jumping – over three days.

“The AI3DE is Australia’s premier equestrian event and one of only six of its kind in the world and the only one in the Southern hemisphere. It’s also the world’s only major equestrian event staged in the heart of a bustling city centre in the Adelaide Parklands.”

The AI3DE also includes an extensive social calendar including the Dancing with the Stars lunch featuring a fashion parade, Party in the Park with DJ Wolfman providing beats deep into the night, Flicks in the Park screening a family movie on a big screen, BBQ Party in the Park allowing guests to rub shoulders with some of Australia’s best riders and much more.
