Blacktown 2012 Shows and Gymkhanas Update

Blacktown Showground is currently undergoing a major refurbishment by council.  The showground will complete its facelift in sections that will continue throughout 2012. Horse events run by Blacktown City Show Society will continue as scheduled in 2012. 

Please note that Council has CLOSED the GATE on RICHMOND ROAD.

ALL HORSE COMPETITORS (floats, trucks and cars) arriving at the showground for shows and gymkhanas, are to ENTER through the KENT STREET GATE ONLY.

When the gate is reopened on Richmond Rd, please do not enter. There may be no access to float parking and the area may be difficult for larger vehicles to negotiate and turn around.

The old trotting stalls and wash bay near the Richmond Rd entrance have been demolished and work has commenced on a NEW STABLE BLOCK near the Kent Street entrance. The new facility will have concrete wash bays, lock up stables and open front three sided stalls.

2012 MONTHLY  GYMKHANA CHANGES

Blacktown City Show Society has replaced the monthly gymkhana, with varied program horse events.

There will be a Blacktown City Show Society HORSE SHOW or GYMKHANA held at Blacktown showground on the LAST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH except December (weather permitting).

STARTING TIMES will now vary depending on time of year and program.  9am - 10.30am

All COMPETITORS must REGISTER to compete and will be required to pay a compulsory $5.00 fee, valid for the day only. A Number will be allocated, and will be used to record results. Waiver forms must also be completed prior to competing, a wristband will be allocated and will be checked when entering rings.

NO WRISTBAND NO ENTRY.

NEW PROGRAMS WILL INCLUDE:  

• Gala Gymkhana
• Funkhana Day
• Hacks and Hunters Show
• Interschool Gymkhana
• Amateur Show
• Hack and Breed Super Show

Some events will be RAS Performance.   New classes  -  more champions

GATE ENTRY remains FREE.

TICKET OFFICE will open 2 hours prior to start time. Please register early as there may be a last minute long queue. NO REFUNDS will be given for unused tickets, however unused tickets are valid at any of the next end of month events.
