Call for WA Police Horses to be Treated as Honorary Union Members
Published on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in General
The death on duty of a WA police horse called Hercules and his burial at a landfill site have prompted a call for all police horses and dogs to be treated as honorary union members. A motion calling for such recognition will be debated at the WA Police Union annual conference on 27 June. Hercules, a 16 year old Clydesdale with six years' police service, was electrocuted after collapsing near a lighting pole at an agricultural show in the Perth Hills on 15 April.
