Camden High School Equestrian Carnival is on This Saturday!

Published on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in Sponsored Shows

The Camden High School Equestrian carnival, being held this Saturday 8 September, has been running since 2003.

Horsezone is a proud sponsor of this event.

The event attracts somewhere between 250 and 300 students from K to 12 from State, Private, and the Catholic sectors.

A Special Needs Ring has been introduced, which caters for students with intellectual and physical disabilities and this is continuing to grow. There is also a well attended Beginners ring. The other rings are divided into Novice, Intermediate and Open. There are also showjumping and Handy Pony (individually timed sporting events) classes.

The Carnival is supported by some wonderful sponsorship and the local community and the aim is to encourage students to compete for their schools in their chosen sport. The competition runs under EA rules with a strong emphasis on horse welfare and sportsmanship.

This year organisers have tried to promote career paths within the industry and The NSW Mounted Police and Richmond TAFE are attending.

Proceeds of the carnival are used for school resources and also go towards supporting The Cancer Foundation, Horse Rescue, and the RFS. A scholarship is also given to a Camden High Student who is going to pursue a horse related field of study.

Everyone hopes that the sun shines on the carnival this year and all competitors, officials, volunteers and parents have a safe and enjoyable day!
