Campbell Has First Big Win in UK

Published on Monday, May 30, 2011 in General

Talented young Kiwi eventer, Jesse Campbell has had an outstanding win in his first major competition in the UK winning the U25 CCI2* competition at Tattersalls International Horse Trail in Ireland.

Jesse moved to the UK 5 months ago to take up a position in Andrew Nicholson’s yard taking with him is regular NZ mount in Kool Kaapachino who he won this class on.

Jesse led from the start of the competition posting a Dressage score of 46.7.  A clear cross country saw him hold onto the lead going into the Showjumping phase with less than a rail in hand.  Despite dropping one rail in the Showjumping Jesse took out the competition when his closest rival British rider Angus Smales also dropped a rail to settle for second.

More news from Tattersalls will be posted on the NZEF High Performance page in the next day, in the meantime click on the following link to view the full results.
