Carl Hester MBE to head Down Under in 2016
One of the world’s most successful dressage trainers is heading down under, with Carl Hester MBE to be the star attraction in a brand new masterclass event to be held at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre on Saturday 5 November 2016.
Saddleworld presents an Evening with Carl Hester will showcase the training methods of the Olympic Gold Medalist and 8-time British Grand Prix Champion, with a program schedule designed to highlight the benefits of the training scale and the common training issues faced by all riders.
For Carl himself, the opportunity to return to Australia was one he couldn’t pass up, and will come after what he plans to be his fifth Olympic Games appearance in Rio.
“I’ve always found Australian riders hungry for knowledge and eager to learn, which is why I’m looking forward to returning this year to help share what I’ve learnt along the way. Despite Australia’s distance from Europe, dressage really is a global sport and I’m looking forward to joining the Dressage Masterclass team in November to help promote it," Carl said.
Adding to the excitement will be Australia’s Brett Parbery who will work with Carl in the Grand Prix session of the evening before presenting a Q&A with Carl where audience members can have their questions answered by the holder of over 66 national dressage titles.
The main indoor arena at Werribee Park will be transformed into a 2,200 seat stadium with video screens and concert quality sound design, while the second indoor will house a trade village curated specifically to the dressage enthusiast, a sit down restaurant, gourmet BBQ and even an English inspired Pimm’s Bar!
Saddleworld General Manager Bill Barnes said “As long-term supporters of Australian dressage and champions of the PDS Carl Hester Collection, we’re delighted to join Dressage Masterclass in bringing Carl back to Australia."
Dressage Masterclass is a new company created by dressage enthusiasts Melissa Cannon and Adam Fawcett, who aim to improve the promotion of equestrian sport in Australia by presenting innovative events that increase training knowledge and showcase the sport to a wider audience.
Tickets go on sale in February 2016 with allocated seating, but dressage fans can sign up now for priority ticket access by visiting www.dressagemasterclass.com.au
