Countdown on for Bates Australian Dressage Champs

Published on Sunday, September 26, 2010 in General
While everyone’s attention is firmly focused on the World Equestrian Games, remember to lock into your diary the Bates Australian Dressage Championships from 28 to 31 October.

This year’s event represents the 10th anniversary of the 2000 Olympic equestrian events being held at the world-class Sydney International Equestrian Centre. The growing popularity of the Saturday night’s Hamilton Island Grand Prix Freestyle will see an atmosphere set to rival that of the Olympics.

Last year's freestyle winner was Brett Parberry on Carolyn Lieutenant's Victory Salute, who notched up a score to be proud of anywhere in the world with 75.55%. The combination is now part of the four-strong Australian Dressage team who are set to compete tonight (Aus time) at the World Equestrian Games.

From Australia’s elite riders and emerging talent there is also a shopping village with a wide range of gear for horse and rider with bargains to be had.

There are ticketing and hospitality packages for everyone, click here for more information.
